hm
my opinion of the situation is probably colored by that of my home world
to be frank most of what team rocket does seems rather tame in comparison

[Not having experienced this strange time of year yet in Johto before, waking up with his abilities suddenly restored was a shock. Nagi had just begun to properly train himself to avoid unconsciously reaching for powers that didn't exist to do things for him, such as turning on the lights. This morning was one of those mornings when the idea that he couldn't slipped his mind with his grogginess. Needless to say, he was fully awake by the time the lights suddenly snapped on on their own accord.

Some further experiments- picking up small objects from the floor or desk, then moving on to actually using his Gear without touching it- proved to Nagi that this was in fact happening, and that his telekinesis had somehow been restored. He got up then, quickly clipping his pokeballs on his belt and leaving his room, immediately marching down the hall down a familiar path to the offices deeper in the base.

Even as he walks, he can feel his chest tighten slightly, but a quick reminder of those lights snapping on makes it go away. Surely Dist and Kato are up early and working as diligently as they so boast...so perhaps they wouldn't mind if he payed them a visit. And if they did, well.

Nagi would just have a proposal ready they couldn't refuse.]

[If Nagi notices that- which he does- he doesn't make note of it. He doesn't react to Dist and his Pokemon at all, instead just watching as he turns and addresses him. At first it seems like Nagi's alone, too- at least until something moves past his neck to settle on his shoulder, long tail curling around its front.

Seated beneath Nagi's ear is a very small Dedenne, large ears swiveling as he looks up at Dist curiously, briefly cleaning his face with his paws before going still, his tail and whiskers twitching every now and then.]

Assuming you aren't busy, I wanted to request something of you.

[personal profile] unkinder 2014-12-03 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
[There's no hesitation on his part, at least. Not even after what you did just there, Dist.]

I want to take your test again.
unkinder: (☆ but I've seen despair here)

[personal profile] unkinder 2014-12-03 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
I know. I want to try again.

[His voice is level as he repeats himself, betraying nothing beyond his insistence on actually taking the test over again. He has no reason to think that those codes will have gotten easier, but having his powers back means that the delay that usually exists when he has to use his hands will no longer be a problem.

If he can get back to where he was, he might be able to beat the clock.]

I can do it.
unkinder: (☆ that I'll get)

[personal profile] unkinder 2014-12-04 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
[He doesn't say anything, just silently following Dist once he starts to walk. The Dedenne is still perched on his shoulder with paws carefully placed to avoid being jostled off. As Nagi walks, the puffy tip of his tail twitches against his ear, reminding him that he isn't alone. He isn't sure why he brought the little Pokemon along, really, but he feels more comfortable about doing this with him there.

If he has anything to say about it, not only will it be worth his time, but he won't soon forget it.]

[Once everything is ready again, Nagi steps forward and takes a seat at the console, looking over at the Dedenne on his shoulder out of the corner of his eye before letting his attention turn to the computer screen. He knows the codes are there like before, just as complex and daunting as they were the first time. Knowing what's coming isn't going to help, especially when he already knows that the time he has to get through them is limited. But today, he doesn't need time.

With his gaze fixed on the screen, Nagi reaches his hand out and takes hold of the mouse, hesitating for a brief moment. The second he clicks the screen flashes and comes alive with collumns of numbers and text that appear almost faster than Nagi can keep track of. His hands pull back sharply, but instead of beginning to type, he holds his hands just a few inches off the keys. Still and unmoving.

For a moment it might appear that Nagi isn't even trying at all, possibly stricken numb by the prospect of failure a second time. That is, at least, until the silence is broken by the sound of keys being struck by invisible hands that don't need to move, and now Nagi's not even quite looking directly at the screen with his eyes partially shut as text appears as if being typed by an outside force. An outside force that doesn't need hands or fingers to beat those lines of code before they can grow unruly, saving precious seconds that had been lost previously.

A force that has allowed Nagi to break down security systems back home; ideally, the same will be true here.]
unkinder: (☆ it's got a one track mind)

[personal profile] unkinder 2014-12-08 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
[At first Nagi doesn't answer, too deep in concentration on what he is doing to really pay Dist much mind. It's been so long since he's done this that the task of breaking the codes isn't quite so daunting now that he can actually feel his powers working. The rush of satisfaction he gets at hearing the keys start to move in response to his influence is enough to dispel any previous anxiety he might have had about doing this.

When Dist proposes that he might be cheating, however, his brows furrow just slightly. The typing doesn't stop as he answers.]

The last time I checked, Dedenne was not a Psychic type, sir.

[Perhaps it isn't in his best interest to be smart, but at the same time he can't help it. Dist's reaction to his performance the last time stuck with him, and it's half the reason he came back to retake the test at all.

As the keys keep moving and text flashes up onto the screen, he continues without turning his attention away from his work.]

I have not brought any other Pokemon with me. You are free to check if you think I am lying, but I don't think you will find anything.

[Not when they are all in their balls he won't.]
unkinder: (☆ from the inside)

[personal profile] unkinder 2014-12-10 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
[Something about the tone of Dist's voice is insanely amusing to Nagi, but he manages to keep a straight face as he continues to work, allowing himself an inward chuckle. Though he's twice as fast at this now, the codes haven't gotten any easier since the last time he tried to break them. The only edge he has is the faster response, able to input more lines of code within seconds instead of having to rely on the speed of his own hands, which clearly wasn't reliable enough for him to get through.

And though he's still focused, he can't help but catch a glimpse of Fonon out of the corner of his eye. The final evolution of his Solosis, an exceedingly strange Pokemon to be sure. It must be a powerful Psychic type for Dist to be using it, and that's something the boy will have to remember for later. For now it's all about this test, which Dist might be alarmed to find that Nagi is starting to make considerable progress on. He also seems a lot more calm and collected than he was the first time around. There's no evidence of his anxiety here; just cold concentration as the keys continue to move, seemingly of their own accord.

As for the Reuniclus, he will be finding nothing. Any signals he picks up from any other Pokemon that happen to be in the base won't be Nagi's. The rest of his team are in their balls and deliberately left back home. It's a risk that he would usually prefer not taking, especially since his Dedenne is very low leveled...but he couldn't have Dist accusing him of cheating, as he is now.

So, he can just count on having a very good alibi.]
