[The Pokemon's cry is enough to make Dist cry out in frustration.]

AUGH! This is the exact opposite of a thoughtful gift! This is a downright godawful excuse for a gift and you should be ashamed, if not fearful for your well-being once I find out who did it!! And to think these gifts are supposed to be special...

[He takes a moment to turn the camera away and wipe his nose. The Magikarp continues its karping in the background.]

Jade, if this is your doing, I swear I'll...I'll... [He has to pause to think of a good comeback.] Take all of your gifts from me back by force!

[It's about now that he can't stand the Magikarp's constant cries anymore. His gaze drifts toward the floor where it is.]

Would you shut up?! Rrrgh, you had better be unique enough for someone to take you off my hands or you're going in the PC forever...

[Since this video was supposed to end before he got even more annoyed by the Magikarp, he finally ends the feed there.]

I have this nagging feeling that we are discussing two very different Jades. The insufferable poor excuse for a friend I am speaking of is a man and has also always been a man.

Probably! People do seem interested in the "shiny" pokemon, although I think the coloration is all that's different? And I wouldn't rule out people being interested in purchasing it for that reason. I know of two other magikarp being kept boxed up all the time, though, and it's really...

Honestly Aradia, if you attempted to train one yourself, you would understand why many trainers choose to leave them in the PC instead. Unless you have the patience of a saint, of course.

[Because if it's not the horrible monster it turns into being a factor, the amount of effort it requires to train a Magikarp is the next worse thing.]

Likewise, I did not know there was another Jade amongst us. I will have to remember to specify in the future.

I'd like to think I have a fair amount of patience! And if the training is the issue, perhaps you could have someone else train it up for you, Dist?

It's not necessarily the training, it's the the results of all the effort. You see...my first Magikarp finally evolved and the Gyarados immediately attacked me.

There is no guarantee that the outcome will be the same, even if I do change my method of training. Gyarados a naturally aggressive creature. Honestly, I would rather spend my time training a strong Pokemon that I know I can control.

This place is much less dangerous than home, really. Alternia had rather a lot of aggressive creatures to contend with, as did the game.
