[The Pokemon's cry is enough to make Dist cry out in frustration.]

AUGH! This is the exact opposite of a thoughtful gift! This is a downright godawful excuse for a gift and you should be ashamed, if not fearful for your well-being once I find out who did it!! And to think these gifts are supposed to be special...

[He takes a moment to turn the camera away and wipe his nose. The Magikarp continues its karping in the background.]

Jade, if this is your doing, I swear I'll...I'll... [He has to pause to think of a good comeback.] Take all of your gifts from me back by force!

[It's about now that he can't stand the Magikarp's constant cries anymore. His gaze drifts toward the floor where it is.]

Would you shut up?! Rrrgh, you had better be unique enough for someone to take you off my hands or you're going in the PC forever...

My previous experience with a Magikarp and its evolution was very unpleasant, so if I can't find a way to sell it, I will store it in the PC until I can muster the will to deal with it.

Probably! People do seem interested in the "shiny" pokemon, although I think the coloration is all that's different? And I wouldn't rule out people being interested in purchasing it for that reason. I know of two other magikarp being kept boxed up all the time, though, and it's really...

Yes. While I absolutely loathe it, if others are willing to pay the price, I cannot complain. Money is money. Honestly, it would actually be useful for something that way.

Honestly Aradia, if you attempted to train one yourself, you would understand why many trainers choose to leave them in the PC instead. Unless you have the patience of a saint, of course.

[Because if it's not the horrible monster it turns into being a factor, the amount of effort it requires to train a Magikarp is the next worse thing.]

Likewise, I did not know there was another Jade amongst us. I will have to remember to specify in the future.
