11 ❀ public video + private video to the Rocket frequency

[It's a lovely afternoon in the National Park. Trainers and Pokemon alike can be seen running, playing, battling, and basically having a grand old time in the warm summer sun. It's great stroll in the park or picnic weather!

Dist is getting in on both of those things. He's currently sitting on a park bench beneath the shade of a large tree, watching several of his Pokemon play in the grass across the walking path. He's recording this, so what can be seen on the 'Gear's feed is a Lilligant, a Vileplume, and a tiny Gothita all doing a Teeter Dance orchestrated by the Lilligant. After a few moments, the Vileplume and Gothita trip over themselves and fall, but judging from their laughing, they're having a good time.

When Dist turns the 'Gear around to face him, he's just shaking his head, smirking all the while. He's opted for sunglasses and casual dress clothes today. Even his Roserade sitting beside him has sunglasses. How classy.]

You know, I didn't realize it until recently, but my team has quite a few stunningly beautiful Pokemon on it. I didn't intend for that to happen, but I am most definitely not complaining! Have any of you noticed a trend amongst your teams? A common type, or feature?

I like to think that these trends say something about us. We all know that the Gym Leaders have their favored types, and their personalities often match those type preferences. By that logic, it's obvious why I have so many beautiful Pokemon on my team.

[...The narcissism is out in full force today, apparently.]

If you don't have an answer to my first question, perhaps this one will be more relevant for you: what do you consider to be the most beautiful Pokemon? Visual examples are not necessary but highly encouraged. I am looking for future team members, and it wouldn't hurt to have some inspiration!

As for my vote? Nothing matches the beauty and grace of Roserade and its evolutionary line.

[The Roserade beside him smiles brightly. Way to lay on the compliments, Dist.]

[Sometime after Dist's video in the park, he posts another video from the labs in the Goldenrod base. He's wearing his usual lab attire now, sitting back in his floating chair with a pleased yet smug look on his face.]

Good evening, my fellow Rockets. This is Dist from the science department. I just wanted to make a general reminder to the new recruits and for those who may not be aware: the base here in Goldenrod has a rather active science department, and even if you're not a scientist, you are welcome to stop by at any time. We have plenty of projects going on that could use testing down the road, and we are more than happy to allow you field agents to test them out. If you would like a small taste of projects we have worked on in the past, I will attach my previous project for your viewing pleasure.

[Sure enough, a file containing this video has been attached.]

For those who participated in that project and tested out my metallic mutations, you have my thanks. Your testing yielded very interesting results. I do hope you enjoyed yourselves playing with a very different sort of Pokemon.

[He crosses his arms, his smirk growing wider all of the sudden. Apparently he's only just now getting to the good part.]

This applies more to those working in the science department, but it won't hurt to let you all know. I have recently been given a position of power, courtesy of our ever so gracious Admins. If you're looking to work in a productive environment that stresses excellent quality and produces opportunities to better yourself in the organization, I suggest you try working with me in Division D of the Research and Development department.

If that prospect interests you, do not hesitate to come find me in the labs. I have my own little section now; it shouldn't be too difficult to locate.

...Most of them are Ghost types. And I would say it says a lot about me as far as personality goes, yes. I happen to think my Mismagius is quite beautiful, too.

[Oh, a compliment? A Mismagius happens to fade in next to her and tilt its head with a "missss?"]

I don't believe I've ever seen a Mismagius before! Clearly I have been missing out, because that is one lovely-looking specimen. What can you tell me about the species?

[The news of Dist's promotion had been incredibly welcomed by Kato; after all, the higher his partner climbed on the ladder, the more benefits he would receive, as well. Funnily enough, however, he can't really find it in himself to be jealous of his accomplishments and recognition. There was, of course, the mutual benefits, but he also...well, genuinely felt proud of him. It was an odd feeling, and one he wasn't really used to - the achievements of others had never mattered to him before, and yet now, he'd found it difficult to wipe a smile off his face all day.

Maybe it was best to just go with and admit that Dist made him happy.

...how very...protagonist. Ew. Anyway, he's currently waiting off to the side for Dist to finish his broadcast. Once he does, Kato walks over, leaning against his chair and smirking.]

I heard you were hiring. Any room for me in your division, Boss~?

Congratulationssssss, Dist.

[Cobra's always happy to see someone he considers useful promoted.]

I imagine it won't be long before you put your new sssstatus to good use.

[He can't help but laugh as he leans further back in his chair to look up at Kato. That smug smirk he was displaying in the video has turned into a soft smile. That's kind of become a trend when he's around Kato these days, especially with how supportive his partner had been about working toward this promotion. Now that he's finally earned it, he's pleased that he'll get to repay Kato for that support.]

I believe I can squeeze in an opening, just for you.

[He's kidding of course. Kato would've been the first choice to be in Dist's division any day.]

We're finally making some progress, Kato. It feels so...so satisfying to be in a familiar position again.

Thank you, Commander! It's good to be back in this sort of position, I must admit.

[He just really missed being able to actually direct stuff. It feels better than good. It feels great.]

You know me all too well. I already have some potential plans in the works. We'll see what sticks.

And how have you been, Commander? What have you been up to as of late?

I don't really have much of a preference as of yet, aside from bug-types. I'm not even sure why. I never had an interest in insects back home...

[The Joltik on his shoulder looks quite proud of herself.]

... But your Pokemon team seem to match you quite well from what I'm seeing.

[That proud look on Katya's face immediately turns to grump. God dammit, Raikov. Can't you go a day without hitting on someone?]

[That comment actually gets Dist to lower his shades a bit, revealing his eyes. He's surprised that someone agreed with him, to be honest.]

Why, thank you for noticing! Beauty seeks out beauty, as they say. And I've always had an eye for beauty.

[Rosamund, the Roserade beside him, is just chuckling to herself because she realized Dist is not getting the actual message here.]

But Bug-type, is it? I wouldn't have expected that from your appearance. I get a Steel-type vibe from you, if I am to be completely honest. Perhaps it's your silver hair?

[Great minds think alike - or at least pretty ones?]

I can tell.

[Katya chirps at Rosamund. Something along the lines of "Master does this a lot." Raikov thinks for a moment at the suggestion, reaching up and gently scraching the Joltik's head.]

Steel, huh...? Maybe. Katya's an eletric-bug type. I wasn't surprised I wound up with an eletric-type starter as I... had certain connections to the "element" back in my world.

[It's okay Dist. Cobra understands completely about the authority thing. Then again, he never let the lack of official position here stop him.]

I have ssssomething minor in the works. Nothing as impressive as your metal project, of course, and it's hardly an official attack, but I have a ssssurprise of sorts I'm planning for a few people.

[Let's just say he plans to redefine the phrase trash journalism.]

Other than that, I haven't been up to anything of note.

[Aside from his two network tantrums.]

[That makes Kato nod, his smirk showing no signs of disappearing. Dist is now one of the highest ranked Rocket members in the Goldenrod base. He can only think of two others - Kimblee and Cobra - that are on the same level as him. Really, it's a rather incredible achievement.

...aaand there's another surge of pride. How troublesome. Pleasant, but troublesome.

I know what you mean; I'm just glad they gave you the recognition you deserve. You've done more for this team lately than anyone else.

[Which may or may not be true (he admittedly doesn't pay that much attention to the others...), but he'll say it either way. Reaching down, Kato gently brushes his fingers through Dist's hair.]

We'll have to celebrate. Do you they'd let us take the helicopter~?

[Since Celes has the questionable privilege of being a member of Team Rocket (despite the fact that she keeps forgetting about - whoops...), she managed to catch both of Dist's videos. While the first one initially took her interest (she's always keen to hear about beautiful Pokemon, after all...), it's the second that she chooses to respond to.

She doesn't really know Dist, but she knows power when she sees it - and with great power comes great...salaries.

Maybe she can get some information out of him.]

It's just so nice to hear from a superior - particularly one of your rank.

I don't really have a common type, but all of my Pokemon have turned out really cute! But even if I didn't get a cute Pokemon, I'd still want to have him or her on my team anyway. Looks aren't everything, otherwise my wife might not have married me!

Your rose bush does look very beautiful. You must've done a good job of taking care of her. And congratulations on the promotion!

The majority of my Pokémon are Normal-types. but I'm not sure I can say I noticed it when it was a deliberate choice and goal of mine.

I find that all Pokémon have their own sort of beauty, no matter what shape they have.

[Surprisingly, this is mostly sincere and not an attempt to keep the peace in his team. He just finds Muk's... potential beauty much harder to discern, that's all.]

That said, I find Milotics particularly lovely. Especially when they wear long flowy scarves in flattering colors. Those fit their shape perfectly.

You could say that, I'm a medium back in my own world. Ghosts are my specialty.

[Awfully perky for a paranormal enthusiast, but that's beside the point.]

[Miiiiisss.] Ahaha, she says "thank you." Mismagius are the evolved form of Misdreavus after being exposed to a Dusk Stone, where their previous form liked to cause mischief just to see the reactions, Mismagius themselves have the ability to chant incantations to torture their victims. The Pokedex says very rarely the incantation will bring happiness. I tell Sumire to keep her incantations to herself, unless we're battling.

You are far too good to me sometimes, Kato.

[Seriously, he hasn't had someone so supportive at his side in a long time. Sometimes he wonders if he even deserves such a great partner...

Oh who is he kidding, of course he does. He just never thought he'd find one!

Well, they never said anything about them being strictly for business purposes. [He almost finds himself relaxing as Kato plays with his hair.] Why, would you like to go somewhere special for this?

[He'll smirk at that compliment. Such kind words, Cobra!

Is that so? Has someone gotten on your bad side again, Commander?

[That's really the only conclusion he can come up with since Cobra called it an unofficial attack.]

[More like an entire news station. Except in hindsight they really didn't. It's complicated.]

Let's just sssay I plan to make sure they think twice about doing sssso again.

[That makes Kato chuckle, and he positions himself more comfortably against Dist's chair, folding his arms.]

Oh, not particularly - I'm just amused by the fact that you apparently have one at your beck and call.

[...what if we dropped bombs from it! We could drop bombs onto things!

Man, helicopters are so cool.]

Tonight it can be your choice, Dist; we can do whatever you like. I'm a rather obedient subordinate, after all~

[What's that? Oh, it's a smirk. Of course.]

Well, I'm sure you know my opinions on beauty, as far as Pokemon go... but I have to admit, Grass Pokemon do tend to be visually appealing, in most cases. It does make sense, but I'll admit that I'm a little fonder of Ghost Pokemon when it comes to my actual team's makeup... though, those can be fairly aesthetically pleasing as well.

[A trend... Garry's smile is a bit awkward, like he's just realized something a bit ridiculous.]

All the Pokemon I've had a choice of choosing for myself tend to be fire types... I actually came here with a Charmander and after that, well...

[My name is Garry and I have bad habits. As if to prove his point, a small Flareon leaps onto his lap, bumping its head up into Garry's palm. That seems to make him relax a bit.]

As for beautiful Pokemon, Haze certainly has a rather lovely coat. Rida wasn't initially mine, but I'd definitely say he has the most elegance out of all my Pokemon.

[Garry shifts the 'Gear to show off the Pokemon in question, a Gardevoir, watching over something else that's offscreen. He even holds himself up right, hands daintily folded in front of himself.]

[Perky indeed...but he supposes eccentric mediums would at least be somewhat perky. Maybe she's one of those?

Not that he sees that as a bad thing. That could be a very useful skill for Team Rocket to take advantage of.]

Ah, that's right! I came across the species name when I was looking for Pokemon to use a Dusk Stone on, but I didn't look too far into it after I settled on a different choice. I've really been missing out this entire time!

Have her incantations proven to be useful during battle?

Believe me, I was just as surprised as you to find that out. We scientists don't need to travel that frequently, but I have to admit that I like the idea of easily being able to visit the other bases using one. The Celadon base is wonderful.

[He wouldn't mind settling there if it wasn't for the heavier traffic flow of the Goldenrod base being more convenient.

...they're definitely gonna need to use the helicopter for a mission though. Maybe he can hook his up with the same program his chair uses. Imagine stealth helicopter bombings, Kato.

But that last comment makes him nervously shift in his chair for a split moment. He likes being in control of people, but in this case it's his partner, which...feels kind of strange, actually. But he's getting to know Kato's behavior pretty well by now, so he decides to roll with that comment by staying on Kato's level.]

Good. I would hate for you to disobey me when you've only just joined my division. [He'll smirk right back at Kato.] What do you say to spending a night in Ecruteak? We can take the helicopter there, and perhaps view one of the Kimono Girls' shows?

Speaking of making a point, Commander...what were the results of that attack you had me, Kato, and the others perform a few months ago? Was it an overall success?

[He realized he never really heard back on that so hey, why not ask now. After all, that attack helped his case in requesting a promotion.]
