I wouldn't be talking about it if you hadn't stolen the device that's apparently intended to be used to revive fossils in the city I'm currently staying in! Now I have to wait until after I defeat this awful gym leader and go to Ecruteak to be able to use them, so I'm hoping you had a-

Yes, because I selected Goldenrod specifically to ruin your plans, Kayneth. [Oops he forgot the title. Or was that on purpose?] If I had my way, I wouldn't have chosen Goldenrod in the first place! The location was what ruined us in the first place!

As for my reason? Well, that should be obvious. To discover the process behind the machine, of course! A process this valuable shouldn't be shrouded in mystery like everything else in this godforsaken world.

Well, I certainly can't blame you for wanting to examine the machine more closely, and I'm sure there would be a great deal of restrictions in place in terms of trying to examine it in the actual center... so while I can't say I entirely approve, I'm not going to moralize at you for stealing one in the first place, given that the natives have been horrendously obstructive to any sort of meaningful research.

...but really, Goldenrod is quite possibly the most inconvenient place you could have stolen from for practically everyone here, not just me! Couldn't you have gone to some backwater hole like... oh, I don't know, Cherrygrove or somewhere like that and stolen their machine?

At least you understand that much. We both know that we would have never gotten any real access to those machines other than seeing the employees use it from far away.

As I said, Goldenrod was not my first choice. It would have certainly been a great deal easier to steal from Cherrygrove or Azalea. But I want to be completely honest with you, Kayneth. Accommodating others who could possibly inconvenienced by my theft was not anywhere close to the top of my list of priorities.

What was preventing you from picking a more auspicious location, then? Inconveniences aside, it meant there were far more people around who would inconvenience you.

The location was predetermined. I had no say in it, unfortunately. I knew it was going to be annoying, and as expected, my teammates were not able to pull their weight.

I can assure you that I'll never be working with them again, even if my life depended on it. Honestly, if I knew they were going to be that terrible, I would have just handled it myself.
