My sleep schedule was much more erratic back home—when I would often work well into the night—so I must say it was quite the change to be able to develop something structured.
Oh, I'm the same way. That's why I don't have much of a routine; I simply didn't have time for anything most nights. I'd be lucky if I made it to bed before midnight.
It is nice to have a bit of a break from that, though. What have you been reading lately?

I thought I would go through the book that Erik found in the Lady's room at the castle. But I am beginning to think that this was something she went through early in our time here. The discoveries that I made with her tools other day rules out anything practical. Something beyond ordinary infrastructure is at play here, and the dead have apparently hinted at such.
I wish we had a better way to communicate with them... There's simply so much we still don't know. It's both fascinating, and a bit frustrating.

Honestly, I have found myself wondering what it would be like to have you at the helm of Malkuth, one of the two kingdoms in Auldrant. Its current emperor is a...former acquaintance of mine from my childhood, and he is part of the reason why Jade decided to give up on Fomicry.

When we were children, Peony also attended the Professor's school. He was a prince at the time, and lived in our hometown in secrecy until it was his time to ascend the throne. He often tagged along with Jade, Nephry and I, and I often found myself having to vie with him for Jade's attention.

He had become Emperor around the time that Jade and I were working on our Fomicry experiments, and convinced Jade to ban it for it being a dangerous and unethical practice. I still don't quite know all of the details of the conversation that led to Jade's decision, but I do know that much.
Perhaps he was jealous of how close the two of you were. He may have had some legitimate concerns about Fomicry, but it does sound as though he was no longer Jade's primary interest anymore.

So it's not something he's going to understand, but that doesn't mean he can't help. It's strange to want to put this much effort in for anyone else - especially anyone who doesn't immediately benefit him like Garon had.
It's not a bad feeling, though. It's sort of nice, honestly.]
